Make your next session useful
The week before your exam
The final week is a chance to bring the important pieces together. Keep the review focused and make the practical details less likely to surprise you.
1. Check the booking details.
Use the vendor or testing provider’s current instructions to confirm the exam code, date, time zone, location or online appointment, identification rules, and rescheduling deadlines. Requirements vary, so use the information for your actual booking.
If the appointment is online, follow the provider’s system-test and workspace instructions. If it’s at a test center, plan the journey and check the arrival guidance.
2. Narrow the review list.
Return to the official objectives and your own notes about unclear topics. Choose the gaps that still matter most. Trying to restart every course in the last few days often leaves less room for useful review.
Work through one concrete example or explanation for each priority topic. Keep the session focused enough that you can tell whether the gap became clearer.
3. Rehearse your approach.
If you have an appropriate practice resource, use a fresh set to rehearse reading carefully and managing the time available. Review the reasoning afterward. Repeating familiar questions until the score looks reassuring tells you less.
Read the provider’s rules about navigation, breaks, and allowed materials. Do not assume another exam works the same way.
4. Prepare the practical details.
Set out what the provider requires and arrange your schedule so you’re not rushing into the appointment. Choose a stopping point for your last review session. Leave time for your normal meals, rest, and the journey or check-in process.
Keep confirmation details somewhere you can access without depending on a long search through your inbox.
5. Let the result inform what comes next.
After the exam, follow the vendor’s guidance on results and any available topic feedback. Give yourself time to reflect before making the next plan. A result is a milestone, not a complete description of your ability.
Whether you passed or need another attempt, write down the practical skill you want to keep developing. That work is useful beyond the exam.
A useful starting point: Make one short checklist from your testing provider’s current instructions. Check those details directly rather than relying on a general guide like this one.
